Detailed Itinerary for 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Trek and Tanzania Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Meet up with our company representative upon your arrival in Kigali. After a brief meet and greet session, you will be driven to your hotel, where you will check in and later have dinner.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Following your arrival, your guide will pick you up from the airport or any other agreed place of pickup point in Kigali and, depending on time, go for a short tour of Kigali city that includes a visit to Kimironko market and the genocide memorial. Have lunch en route as you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, crossing into Uganda through Cyanika border. Proceed to Bwindi, arriving in the evening.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast on the third day of your 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Trek and Tanzania wildlife safari, you will carry a packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla habituation briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle in search of a gorilla family. Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes a full day, and during trekking you will enjoy great views of other wildlife species, primates like chimpanzees, l’Hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, a variety of bird species, and view different plant and tree species among others.
Once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend four hours with them in their natural habitat, which gives you an opportunity to learn and monitor their behaviors, watch them feed, play, breastfeed, groom young ones, participate in the naming process, and take photos to show people back home after the safari. After you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and later meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.
Day 4: Transfer Back to Kigali
Wake up at leisure and have breakfast at your lodge before checking out and heading back to Kigali. Arrive in time to have lunch and then visit Caplaki craft village, Richard Kandt House museum, and Camp Kigali if time allows.
Head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Fly to Arusha (Your own Booking)
After breakfast at the lodge, check out and transfer to Kigali International Airport, which is about 4 hours away, for your flight to Jomo International Airport.
Upon your arrival in Tanzania, you shall be picked up and transferred to your hotel of stay. Check in and enjoy a late dinner and overnight stay in Arusha.
Day 6: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After your breakfast, you will continue your drive to Tarangire National Park, which begins your wildlife viewing experiences in Tanzania. After checking in at your lodge in the national park, you will prepare to have your lunch before heading out into the wilderness of the national park.
During your game drive, you will see different wildlife species grazing and roaming in the national park, such as lions, giraffes, antelopes, leopards, buffaloes, wildebeests, elands, elephants, cheetahs, impalas, and a variety of bird species can also be seen, especially around the Tarangire National Park. As you enjoy the sunset and scenery around you, your guide will take you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
You will have an early breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for your transfer to Serengeti National Park. You will see different wildlife species during your en route game drive in the open savannah plains on the way to the northern part of the Serengeti, with lunch enjoyed en route.
During your game drive in the national park, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery, such as the kopjes, where lions can be seen as they watch their prey. You will also see various wildlife species such as elephants, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, and impalas, among others, during your game drive. You will proceed to your camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Full Day Game Viewing in Serengeti National Park
Today, you shall enjoy a full day game drive in the Serengeti for yet another chance to spot different wild animals, including the big 5. You shall have lunch in the park, and an amazing game drive in the central Serengeti for a chance to see more of the wild game, around the Seronera River. Return to the camp, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater Drive
After a leisurely breakfast, go to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing. Pack a picnic meal. The crater is home to a large population of lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and other wildlife. The rare black rhino may be observed the most easily. You will return to your Lodge in the late afternoon to dine and spend the night.
Day 10: Departure
After breakfast, drive to Arusha for lunch before continuing on to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure.
