You will be trekking gorillas in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda where you will also trek gorillas. Pickup and drop off will be in Kigali.

Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Uganda Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari from Kigali
Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Ruhengeri.
On your first day with us according to this itinerary you will be met by our representative who will pick you up from the airport or your hotel in Kigali. You will be taken for a short city tour where you will visit the Rwanda genocide memorial grounds, some craft shops and your driver guide will give you some information on the culture and history of Rwanda.
You will also have lunch depending on your time of arrival. After enjoying Kigali, you will then embark on a journey to your hotel nearer to Volcanoes National park the home of these endangered species to rest and prepare for the trek the next morning. This journey will be approximately three hours’ drive from Kigali to Ruhengeri. Dinner and Overnight at your selected lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes National Park.
As early at 6am, you will be expected to be up for breakfast and ready to set off for the gorilla trek. Our guide will meet you after having your breakfast and your lunches packed and he will take you to Kinigi Headquarters where you are expected to be given a brief before starting the gorilla trek.
This brief is done at 7am. You are given guidelines during this brief before you are allowed to start the trek. This gorilla trek can take to about 2 hours to half a day as it’s unpredictable. When you finally find the gorillas, you will have to maintain a 6 meters’ distance and you are allowed one hour to admire and take photos of the gorillas.
After the trek, you will return back to the lodge for relaxation and reminisce on the experience or you can ask the guide in case you want to have another activity in the evening where you will go for an Ibyi’wacu Cultural tour which is located near the national park. Get to watch dance and singing performances from the local intore dance troupe. Dinner and overnight will be at the same hotel as the night before
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast on the third day of the 4 Days Uganda Rwanda Gorilla Trekking safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park passing through Cyanika border in Kisoro. On the way you will enjoy great views of rolling hills in Rwanda, terraced farmlands, beautiful scenery among others. Upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Four gorillas lodge-luxury/ Ichumbi lodge-midrange or Rushaga gorilla haven lodge-budget.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park and departure to Kigali
After an early breakfast on the last day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge, carry your packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking.
After the briefing you will start trekking in the park which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, different plant species, birds among others.
Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, behaviors, watch gorillas feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments.
After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kigali.
On the way you will enjoy great views of the Kigezi hills, countryside, terraced farmlands and upon arrival in Kigali your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali international airport for your departure flight or drop you off at your lodge in Kigali depending on your schedule.
