AJAI GAME RESERVE
Ajai wildlife reserve is a Uganda’s game reserve located in Arua district North western region on the western banks of the Nile.The reserve was at first established in 1962 as the white Rhino sanctuary and Established as a game reserve in 1965,it comes an area of 148 square kilometers, The reserve is managed by the Uganda wildlife Authority(UWA)Ajai was once a home to the white white Rhinos and which is was famously known for, it started as a sanctuary under the a powerful management of local chief who was named Ajai were the reserve inherit the name,Ajai happen to make the reserve a protected area in 1937 and introduced new rules in a target of stopping poaching and encroachment on the Island later on the sanctuary was upgraded to a game reserve that it is today to protect Rhinos.
Ajai Game reserve is Covered by prominent savannah plains, swamps and woodlands, the reserve has several attractions on the primates were visitors to the reserve can spot different wildlife like colobus monkeys, Zebras, Foxes, Leopards, Uganda Kobs, Dik Dik, Black and White colobus monkeys, Oribi, Red monkeys, Monitor Lizards, Olive Baboons among other more. Apart from this amazing astounding wildlife that the reserve has, Ajai Game reserve is a majestic destination for Birdwatchers in Uganda where the combination of swamps and woodlands give a perfect habitat for several numerous Bird species like weaver birds, African Fish eagles, Rey gowned crane among others un motioned that make the reserve the Idea destination for all ranges of people.
KARUMA WILDLIFE RESERVE
Karuma lies in the western region of Uganda, Kiryandongo district, Karuma adjoins the famous Murchison falls national park which is the largest and the oldest National Park in Uganda. Karuma covers an area of 675 square Kilometers in the eastern part of Murchison Falls National Park and its located within its conservation area. The Reserve was established in 1960s which was then a wall between the Murchison falls national Park. The reserve is Named after the falls that are with the reserve called Karuma Falls hence Karuma wildlife reserve, This Reserve not only hosts Amazing Water falls but Also Hosts over 50 Animal species and gives an opportunity to visitors to do Game drives, hike on Karuma falls, birdwatching for Bird watchers to help them experience the beauty of Wildlife and nature in Uganda that can’t be missed while on a Uganda safari tour.
BUGUNGU WILDLIFE RESERVE
Bugungu wildlife reserve was before established as a controlled hunting area around 1963 and happened to be gazzetted as a wildlife reserve in 1968, it’s a small and less crowded astounding wildlife Reserve that covers an area of approximately 501 square kilometers between the famous Murchison falls National Park and the shores of lake albert.
The reserve is commonly known for chimpanzees but its also a home to other different mammal species including Lion Panthera, buffalos, elephants, Hippos, Uganda kobs among others.
The reserve doesn’t only home primates but also different species, over 240 bird species that includes Black headed batis, Black billed barbet, Black billed wood dove, plainain eater, white browed sparrow weaver among other much more inhabit within the Bugungu wildlife reserve making it an idea destination and paradise for the Bird watchers for Tourists and Visitors.
TORO SEMULIKI WILDLIFE RESERVE
Toro Semuliki Wildlife Reserve is Uganda’s game reserve that is located in the western region in Uganda in Ntoroko and Kabarole district and the reserve enjoys the adjoins dramatic rift valley setting between the Rwenzori mountains and Lake Albert, the reserve was gazetted as a protected area and established as a game reserve in the 1962.The part was established and gazetted as a protected area due to its large number of Uganda kobs it was hosting. The reserve lies on an area surface of 542 square Kilometers. The reserve is a home to several primates which includes Red tailed, Uganda kobs, Elephants, Waterbucks and Chimpanzees among others. The reserve offers an opportunity to its visitors to carry on with several activities like Boat safaris, Game drives, Hiking the Nyaburogo gorge and other amazing activities that allows tourists and visitors experience the rich flora and fauna nature beauty of Uganda and create nothing but beautiful memories in Africa.
KABWOYA WILDLIFE RESERVE
Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve is a Uganda’s reserve which was gazetted in 2002 located in the western Uganda at the picturesque rift valley of Albertine, the reserve encompassing an area size of approximately 87 square Kilometers.Kabwoya is a paradise of nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers offering a glimpse into Uganda’s rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes.
Kabwoya wildlife reserve is renowned for its diverse ecosystem, ranging from expansive savannas to dense woodlands and shimmering lakes. The reserve’s landscape is characterized by rolling hills, rock outcrops, and meandering streams which creates shades of habitats that support a wide array of flora and fauna.
One of the defining features of Kabwoya wildlife reserve is Lake Albert which borders the reserve to the North .The famous freshwater lake not only provides a scenic Backdrop but also serves as a vital lifeline for the diverse wildlife that inhabits the area, Visitor at the reserve can embark on boat safari across the Lake Albert offering visitors opportunities to Spot different animal species like Hippos, Crocodiles among others and various Bird species including kingfishers and African fish eagles among others.
