Detailed Itinerary for 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari and Golden Monkey Trek

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Depending on your location in Kigali, you will be picked up by our Driver/guide who will later transfer you northwards to Volcanoes National Park, home to the remaining endangered mountain gorillas. The driver will drive slowly so you can enjoy the scenic drive through terraced hills while taking pictures. Arrive late afternoon and check in at your lodge for relaxation.

Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking.
After early morning breakfast, transfer to Kinigi Park headquarters for a briefing by the park warden about the rules and regulations while trekking. You will be allocated a specific gorilla group for trekking, and transfer to various starting points for gorilla trekking.

This activity takes 1 to 8 hours to encounter the mountain gorillas as they keep moving from one point to another. Upon spotting them, you are free to stay in their presence taking photographs for one hour. Then return to the point where your vehicle is stationed so as to transfer you back to the lodge.

Dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 3: Golden monkey experience and Transfer back to Kigali
After early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing, then set off to the forest to track the rare golden monkey, this is done at a closer view of the other primates in the park like the red-tailed monkeys, and Vervet monkeys among others. Return to the lodge, refresh, and later meet the driver for your transfer back to Kigali.
