Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Congo Gorilla Trek and Mount Kahuzi Hike Safari.
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu.
Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu. When you arrive at the airport, you will be met by a Guide from Golden Rwanda Safari Experiences and taken to Bukavu, Congo. During the ride, you will see lovely Rwandan rolling hills as you pass through several areas of Rwanda until you arrive at the Congo-Rwanda border in Bukavu. Finalize border preparations and enter Congo.
Dinner and overnight at your designated hotel.
Day 2: First Lowland Gorilla Trek
From breakfast at the resort, proceed to the park headquarters for a 45-minute briefing on the Eastern lowland gorillas. You will then go on your exciting adventure with lowland gorillas in the Kahuzi lowlands, where you will see a variety of animals, birds, and primates. It’s generally a 1-6 hours’ experience of the jungle, depending on their movement while watching them interact/play with each other and taking photographs and movies.
You will then descend and meet your driver before returning to your accommodation in the park for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Mount Kahuzi Hike
On the third day of your 4 Days Congo gorilla trek and Mount Kahuzi hike safari, you will wake up early and have your breakfast. You will then link up with your driver guide and drive to the briefing point. After you have been briefed by the park’s head ranger, you will commence your hike to the summit of Mount Kahuzi, which stands at 3308 meters above sea level. The hike usually takes about 4 hours depending on your hiking pace and will reward you with stunning views of the park, its wildlife and beautiful waterfalls.
You will have your lunch and then head back to base where you will meet your driver guide and head back to Bukavu town where you will spend the rest of your evening relaxing at leisure.

Day 4: Optional Hike to Tshibati Waterfalls and Transfer Back to Kigali.
Today marks your final day with us on your safari. After having breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your driver guide and drive back to the border. If you wish to go on a guided nature hike to Tshibati waterfalls which offers you a chance for a dip in a plunge. This hike is optional so you will need to inform us in advance if you wish to add this hike to your itinerary at the time of your booking.
Proceed with your drive to the border where you will clear with immigrations, and meet up with your Rwanda driver guide. You will proceed with your drive to Kigali with a stopover for lunch en-route. Upon your arrival in Kigali, your driver guide will drop you off at a hotel of your choice or at Kigali international Airport.
