Our 4 Days Rwanda Gorillas and Golden Monkeys Safari is a short Rwanda Safari that takes you on a magnificent journey to encounter Mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. You will also visit the gorilla guardians’ village, also known as Ibyi’wacu Village, which is located near the park entrance. Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Rwanda Gorillas and Golden Monkeys Safari
DAY 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Ruhengeri.
According to this plan, on your first day with us, you will be welcomed by our representative who will pick you up from the airport or your desired location. You will be taken on a city tour, seeing the Rwanda genocide memorial grounds, as well as several artisan stores, and your driving guide will provide you with information on Rwanda’s culture and history.
Depending on your arrival time, you will also eat lunch. After exploring Kigali, you will go to your accommodation near Volcanoes National Park, the home of this endangered species, to recover and prepare for the trip the following morning. The travel from Kigali to Ruhengeri will take around two and a half hours.
Dinner and Overnight at the lodge of your preference.
DAY 2: Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes National Park.
You will be expected to be up for breakfast and ready to go for the walk as early as 6 a.m. After you have packed your breakfast and lunch, our guide will meet you and drive you to Kinigi Headquarters, where you will be briefed before beginning your gorilla walk. This brief is completed at 7 a.m. Before you begin the walk, you are given instructions at this briefing. Because of the unpredictable nature of the gorilla hike, it can take anything from 2 hours to half a day. When you eventually spot the gorillas, you must keep a 6-meter distance from them and have one hour to observe and photograph them.
After the gorilla trek, you will be served lunch and returned to your hotel, where you slept the night before, to unwind and reflect on your experience. You can ask the guide for advice if you wish to do another activity in the evening at your own expense. You will next proceed to the Ibyi’wacu Cultural Visit. Dinner and overnight will be held at the same hotel as the previous night.
DAY 3: Golden Monkey Trek
You will be expected to be up for breakfast and ready to go for the walk as early as 6 a.m. Our guide will meet you once you have packed your breakfast and lunch, and he will drive you to Kinigi Headquarters, where you will be briefed before beginning the golden monkey walk. This brief is completed at 7 a.m. Before you begin the walk, you are given instructions at this briefing. Because the golden monkey walk is unpredictable, it might take anything from 2 hours to half a day. When you eventually spot the gorillas, you must keep a 6-meter distance from them and have one hour to observe and photograph them.
After your gorilla trek, head back to your lodge and spend the rest of the evening relaxing at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge of your booking.
Day 4: Transfer Back to Kigali.
On this day, you will eat breakfast at your leisure but must check out of the hotel by a certain time. Our guide will meet you at Kigali International Airport or any other location you choose in Kigali.
