ACTIVITIES IN QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK 2021

Activities in Queen Elizabeth national park 2021 : Queen Elizabeth national park is a home to four of the big fie animals in Uganda which has attracted tourists from all over the world to visit the national park in order to experience one of the best safaris that the country has to offer and with a number of covid-19 safety measures in Uganda that have been put in place to ensure that tourists have a safe stay while they take part in the different activities in queen Elizabeth national park 2021 has  attracted more tourist to visit Uganda and take part in activities like;

BIRDING

Birding is quite an interesting activity in Queen Elizabeth National Park that can be carried out to ensure you have amazing experience during your safaris. The activity can be carried out in the   Kasenyi Area, Mweya peninsula, Ishasha sector among other different areas in the park. The different bird species that can be seen in the park include; GriffonVulture, shoe bill stork, yellow wagtail, sacred ibis, Lappet faced Vulture, Brown Snake Eagle, Wahlberg’s Eagle, Bateleur, black crake, squirrel tailed night jar, Long-created Eagle, Nubian wood pecker, pygmy kingfisher,  African jacana, Martial Eagle, blue- naped mouse bird, Grey Kestrel, African Crake, Black-bellied BustardTemminck’s Courser,  raptors, African Wattled Plover Crowned Plover Senegal Plove Hooded Vulture, African White-backed Vulture among other bird species which will make your birding experience in queen Elizabeth National Park memorable.

LION TRACKING EXPERIENCE

The lion tracking experience is among the most rewarding activities in Queen Elizabeth national park 2021, that you should not miss out on given the fact that you’ll get to see the kings of the jungle  in their given prides. The lion tracking experience will give you easy access to the lion pride with the help of a radio collar that is inserted in the lion that helps the team f researchers to locate a given lion pride. When you get to the lions, experience how the lions live within a given pride, their co-existence with one another, how they establish their territory by the male urinating around a given area as a sign of  territorial demarcation,  their hierarchy, you will be able to distinguish the males from the females, you will see how the females take care of the young ones among other interesting features of the lions in the wild.

CHIMPANZEE TREKKING

Chimpanzee trekking is also another activity in Queen Elizabeth national park 2021 that will give you the most exciting adventure during your Uganda safari. Chimpanzee trekking in Queen Elizabeth national park is carried out in kyambura gorge also known as the valley of apes because of a number of primates that can be seen like; red tailed monkeys, red Colobus monkeys olive baboons, white colobus monkeys, and the chimpanzees. Just like gorilla trekking in Uganda which involves tracking the habituated primates, chimpanzee trekking in queen Elizabeth national park also involves tourists hiking through the gorge in order to access the habituated chimpanzee troops, once they get to the troops, they will have the chance to spend one hour with the primates observes their rewarding activities in the wild like  understand their feeding patterns, grooming patterns and so on.

Aside from the primate species, you will also have the chance to see a number of bird species as you participate in chimpanzee trekking and this will give you the chance to see bird species like;white winged warbler, grey breated pitta, yellow spotted nicator, papyrus gonolek, white collared olive back, grey winged robin chat, black bishop, white spotted flufftail, hairy breasted barbet, black crowned wax bill among other bird species.

Game drives

Nature walks in the park are some of the activities in Queen Elizabeth National Park for tourists interested in having a relaxing adventure in the park. there  are a number of trails that will lead you to a number of attractions within the park. among the attractions that you will get to see include;  L’hoest’s monkeys, Mona monkey, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkey black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys and many more which will make your experience in the park memorable and the beautiful sceneries of the two lakes that can be seen along the borders of the forest will offer beautiful scenic views and cool breezes.
