The test should be done 3 days before you travel in order to have a safe activity in the country. it should be noted for an tourist interested in accessing Rwanda, they should have a negative covid-19 test or be fully vaccinated and it is mandatory for tourists to take another covid-19 test on arrival with an exception of the fully vaccinated tourists.

- Tourists from category 2 countries are advised to take part in 14 days quarantine or self isolation when they reach Rwanda in order for the virus to incubate to avoid being a threat to other tourists and locals. They can also take part in the covid-19 testing to ensure they are not a threat to tourists and the locals during the hard times of covid-19 in Rwanda.
- At the airport there is a temperature gun that will enable to take the temperature reading to identify any cases of covid-19. This is done by a robot to avoid the spread of the virus among the people.
- During gorilla trekking in Rwanda, instead of eight people that usually participate in gorilla trekking, sis people now carryout gorilla trekking as a way to avoid the spread of covid-19 amongst the tourists this avoids overcrowding during the activity.
