COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES IN RWANDA

Rwanda is among the African countries that have fought against covid-19 by putting in place a number of covid-19 safety measures  to ensure that its people are protected against the deadly virus and for the ones that already have the virus, they are treated to ensure that they live normal lives and this has enabled the country to be among one of the highly visited destinations in the country due to the  success of the covid-19 safety measures in Rwanda.

The different measures that the country have put in place, it has enabled a  number of tourists to visit the country in order to enjoy taking part in activities like gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park, visiting Kimironko market as part of the cultural tours in Rwanda, Kigali city tour, tracking the big five animals in akagera national park,  chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe national park and many other activities and the safety measures include

  • While taking part in the different activities in Rwanda and when you’re in a group of people you’re advised to wear a face mask at any given time to avoid getting exposure to covid-19 and its variants. This is done to prevent the risk of spreading the virus to the tourists and the locals which can lead the cases in the country to be overwhelming in the long run. The mask with help you to block any infected droplets from an infected person that may easily spread the virus from one person to another.
  • Social distancing is encouraged while taking part in gorilla trekking in the different activities in Rwanda like volcanoes national park avoid the spread of the virus in case the tourists might have contacted it during their transfer to the park.

  • Regular disinfection is highly advised while on your safari for all the surfaces you get in contact with this is because the virus tends to live on surfaces for more than 12 hours which makes it very easy to be contracted. Therefore to avoid any incidents, tourist are advised avoid touching surfaces and also to regularly disinfect the ones that they get in contact with to save a number of lives.
  • When you come in contact other tourists it is advisable that you maintain a social distance to avoid contracting the virus in case you get in contact with a sick person and when you you come in contact with an infected person, you are not a threat to the locals and other tourists to spread the virus.
  • Temperature guns are used at the park entrance different destinations will help to take the temperature reading of individuals and for sick patients it will enable them to identify them and this will help to avoid the sick ones to mingle with the others which can be threatening to their well being.
  • A locator slips/ documents are also filled before you access the country and these indicate all you travel details like where you’ll be staying, the destinations you’ll visit among other relevant information of your stay in the country. It easily helps locate the movements of the tourists in case they get the virus which will help to locate the people they got in contact with which helps in the long run fight the increase of covid-19 cases in the country.
  • For any tourist to participate in the Rwanda safari during covid-19, they should have a negative PCR covid test in order to take part in the activity and failure to do so, they will not be allowed to take part in the activity since you can be a threat to other tourists that are negative of covid-19. The test should be taken within 72 hours before travel
