Enjoy an exciting 3 Days Maasai Mara Safari that begins and ends in Nairobi city, staying at quality mid-range safari lodges or tented camps that are often located inside or near the main Maasai Mara National Reserve.
This two-night, three-day itinerary includes road transportation from Nairobi city and up to four private safari game drives within the reserve. The tour may also include optional activities such as a visit to a Maasai community. Full-day game drives are available at no additional cost on the second day of the program in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Day 1: Pickup from Nairobi and Transfer to Maasai Mara
Your safari driver from Explore Rwanda Tours will pick you up from your hotel and begin the 5-6-hour trip to the Maasai Mara Reserve. You will journey across the vast plains of the East African Rift Valley, Maasai territory, and the Narok area. The Maasai are perhaps Africa’s last authentic livestock nomads.
Upon your arrival in Maasai Mara National Reserve, check into your lodge and have lunch. Later, head out for an afternoon game drive where you will have an opportunity to see a number of wildlife like buffaloes, cheetahs, the elusive leopard, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes, among others.
Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive and Visit Maasai Bomas
Today, you will go on two safari game drives in the world-famed Maasai Mara: one in the morning from 6.15 am to 9 am, followed by breakfast, and another in the late afternoon after lunch from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Wildlife is generally more active during certain times of day. Don’t miss out on the classic game drivers along the Mara River, which is a hotspot for game viewing, especially if you are targeting the Great Migration river crossings, which is best witnessed from late July to October.
Your game drive times will be flexible, which is ideal whether you are traveling with children, on a honeymoon, or joining our volunteers. You can also opt for a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch at no additional expense. Return in the evening for supper and a stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Transfer Back to Nairobi
Breakfast will be served by your lodge, and head out for a morning game drive as you exit the park. The Maasai Mara is famed for its vast open savannah plains, which provide the perfect sanctuary for an abundance of wildlife animals, including elephants, wildebeests, zebra, hyena, buffalo, and Big cats like lions, the elusive leopard, and cheetah.
Proceed with your drive back to Nairobi with lunch en route. Upon your arrival in Nairobi in the afternoon, your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight back home.
