The Bwindi impenetrable forest is a home to a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas of the world and is located in the south western part of Uganda. It is an 8 to 9 hour road transfer from Kampala the capital city of Uganda to the park.

The Queen Elizabeth national park, one of the most visited national parks of Uganda is a savannah park located in the western part of the country. The visitors of the Queen Elizabeth national park can engage in savannah game drives, boat cruises, chimpanzee trekking, community visits and many more activities.

Trip description

Day 1: Drive from Kampala/ Entebbe to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

Your driver guide will be waiting for you to get ready and then you will be briefed on the next few days of your safari. You will set out on your 8 hour road transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park.

You will drive via Mbarara where you will have a stopover for an enroute lunch. You may take some time at the equator for a pictorial moment and connect further to your hotel in Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Dinner and overnight will be in Bwindi forest

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest national park

Start the day with a warm breakfast right before you leave the hotel headed for the mountain gorilla trekking experience. You will drive to the briefing point for a brief before the trek on the expectations and code of conduct and also get some time to hire any extras you may need in the forest like walking sticks or porters.

Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest national park is an authentic experience with less exploitation of the forest so be sure to enjoy the wilderness. You will search for the mountain gorillas for about 4 hours and spend an hour with the mountain gorillas.

Later, drive back to your hotel to have lunch and relax. Later in the evening, you may go for a Batwa community visit and get back before it gets dark. Dinner and overnight will be at the same hotel as the night before.

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park

Wake up ready for your transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will drive to the park via the Ishasha sector that is famous for its tree climbing lions.

You will drive via the Kazinga channel and connect to your hotel in time for lunch. Enjoy your lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure as you wait for dinner to be served.

Day 4: Day Game drive and afternoon launch cruise

An eventful day! You will wake up to enjoy the savannah part of this country. You will set out for a morning game drive for a chance to see a few of the Big 5. In Queen Elizabeth national park, you will be able to see big herds of elephants, buffalos, leopards and lions on great sighting days and also smaller game like the antelopes, the bush duikers, the impalas, the bush backs and water backs and even the wild pigs known as the warthogs.

After your game drive, you may return to your accommodation to cool off and let the sun set abit and head out for your afternoon launch cruise. The launch cruise of Queen Elizabeth national park gives you a chance of enjoy the Kazinga channel that has the biggest concentration of hippos. Get to see the crocodiles as well. This is also a great birding point.

Return to your accommodation in time for dinner to be served.

Day 5: Drive back to Kampala via the Equator.

Have a filling breakfast and head out to your transfer back to Kampala. You will drive for 5 to 6 hours via the Equator where you will stop for an experiment and lunch and continue further back to Kampala for drop off. You will advise on your preferred drop off location.
