Expect to see the Big 5, take a boat ride to the foot of the falls, and walk to the top of the falls if you visit Murchison Falls National Park. Transfer to Kibale, where you will do chimp trekking. The primate population here will captivate you.
The next stop is Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you can expect to see classic big game (including the unusual tree-climbing lions) and take a boat tour on the Kazinga channel. Bwindi is the place to go if you want to see gorillas in their natural habitat. Transfer back to Kampala or drop off at Entebbe International Airport.

Detailed Itinerary 8 Days Uganda Wildlife, Chimps and Gorillas.
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Murchison Falls NP with rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Your driver/guide will meet you at the Entebbe International Airport and transport you to Murchison Falls National Park. The following are some of the park’s highlights: the Murchison River’s raging rapids, and Uganda’s biggest National Park’s undulating plains, where you can see lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. The concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles here will undoubtedly fascinate you. Murchison Falls is home to 450 different bird species, including the secretive shoebill stork, which is an uncommon encounter. Other common sightings include; dwarf king fisher, the white-thigh hornbill and the Goliath heron among others.
Make a pit stop along the way to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for your first Big 5 experience, which includes one hour of rhino tracking. Another destination will be Masindi, where you will have lunch. Return to the park and settle into your lodging to unwind for the evening. Dinner and overnight at Heritage Safari Lodge/Pakuba Safari Lodge/Paara Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Morning game drive and Afternoon boat trip to the base of the falls
Morning Game Drive: After an early breakfast, go on a tour of Murchison’s northern part, which has a lot of savannah animals. Elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda Kob and lions, leopards (if you’re lucky), and a variety of bird species can all be seen and photographed.
Afternoon Boat Cruise: Return to your lodging for lunch before embarking on a three-hour boat ride to the base of the falls. This tour is believed to be the highlight of the Murchison Falls safari since it allows you to get up up and personal with the aquatic animals. On the route to the tremendous waterfalls, cruise through huge hippo pods, crocodiles, and other aquatic birds that beautify the north bank.
Optional: Also, if you want to, take a trek to the top of the falls. The hike is difficult, but the rush of reaching the summit is unforgettable. Only miss it if you absolutely have to! Return to your lodging for dinner and an overnight stay. Dinner and overnight same as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Transfer to Kibale: After breakfast at your accommodation, drive to the top of the falls (for those not interested in the hike) where you will have spectacular view of the falls and later transfer to Kibale Forest National Park after breakfast.
Kibale national park is popular for its primates like the chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, mangabeys and red tailed monkeys. On your chimpanzee trails, these are regularly seen swinging in the forest trees and others feeding on the wild fruits. You will reach and do little but check into your accommodation where you will have dinner and the overnight. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House/Kyaninga Lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Chimpanzee Trekking: Have breakfast and head out for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest. The activity begins at 8.00am with a briefing regarding the rules of trekking the chimpanzees after which you set off to search for them in the forest. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will have a full hour with them.
Transfer to Queen: You will return to the lodge for lunch after which you will head out for Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive in the evening and overnight at your booked accommodation: Elephant Hub/ Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga channel
Morning Game Drive: Have an early morning breakfast and proceed on a morning game drive in the park which begins at 6am. This morning game drive will give you a great chance to view nocturnal animals like leopards, serval cats and other wildlife such as African savannah elephants, hyenas, Uganda Kobs, heart beasts, giraffes, zebras and many more. Queen Elizabeth National Park is blessed with over 612 bird species thus making it a great destination for birding activities. While on your game drive, you may spot birds like the African skimmer, Chapin’s flycatcher, Shoebill stock, the great flamingos and Pink- backed pelicans. Return back to your lodge for lunch.
Evening Boat Cruise: Later head out for an evening boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. The boat cruise starts at exactly 1pm and can take approximately 2 hours. During your boat cruise, you may sight lots of wildlife such as hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and some species of birds like the great flamingos, Shoebill stock, Ibis and so many others.
Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi National Park via Ishasha
Transfer to Bwindi: Have breakfast, meet your driver and proceed to southwards to the Ishasha sector of the park which is a home for tree climbing lions. Towards your destination, you will have a pleasant view of the Uganda Kob, elephants and some birds of riverine and savanna habitats. You will drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park (home of the Uganda Mountain Gorillas). Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge/Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge
Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation
Gorilla Trekking: After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored.
Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi: Get back to your lodging. After lunch, check out and make your way to Lake Bunyonyi by taxi. The lush, green-terraced hills that surround Lake Bunyonyi rise to a height of (2,200 – 2,478m), but it’s the 29 islands of varying shapes and sizes dispersed across the water that make it truly magnificent — you could spend all day admiring them. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Day 8: Transfer Back to Kampala/Entebbe.
Transfer Back to Kampala/Entebbe: After breakfast, transfer back to Kampala and have a short city tour depending your time of arrival in Kampala City. Alternatively, your driver/guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport where you will board your return flight back home. End of Tour.
