Guests interested in bird watching can hire a competent birding guide for a guided birding trip in this park, which is home to over 300 different bird species. The guided birding walk costs $50 for foreign tourists, $40 for foreign residents of Rwanda, and 5,000 Rwandan francs for Rwandans.

If you want to go birding again, it will cost you $25 USD for international tourists, $20 USD for foreign Rwandan residents, and 2,500 Rwandan francs for Rwandan nationals.

Canopy Walkway

Foreign tourists may obtain a permit for the canopy walkway hike in Nyungwe forest for only $60 USD, whereas Rwandan foreign residents can obtain a permit for $50 USD and Rwandan nationals can obtain a permit for $5,000 USD. Rwanda’s canopy walk is the best in East Africa and the only canopy in the area.

This is a 70 metre high suspension bridge and a 160 metre long bridge that provides a view of the park from the top and is a superb bird watching area as well as an opportunity to see the park’s other monkeys and butterflies.

Trekking chimpanzees

Chimpanzee trekking is the most popular activity in the Nyungwe Forest National Park, and it is an exhilarating experience. Foreign tourists can reserve chimp permits for 90 USD, 60 USD for foreign Rwandan residents and 5,000 Rwandan francs for Rwandan nationals.

Trekking other primates species
