The Itinerary for a Uganda Safari Tour
Also known as the pearl of Africa Uganda is a country that has all it takes to make any visitor fall in love with it through the beautiful scenery and cultural activities to take part in. Uganda is truly the best place for an African safari. The following is an excellent itinerary for a 10-day trip to Uganda that includes not only all the main tourist attractions but also a good cross-section of Uganda’s different habitats.
Day 1
The activities that you will have in Uganda begin in the city of Entebbe. You are going to get the usual welcome of your soon-to-be home country here at Entebbe International Airport. You will rest in the hotel before your recovery from your trips but if time allows for it, you will be able to at least have a sneak preview of what is near Entebbe. Possible venues for this are the very nice Botanical Gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, which give a fairly good idea of what makes Uganda so biologically diverse.
Day 2
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Uganda’s biggest and oldest game park, the Murchison Falls National Park. The road that we are using passes through green pastures. One can be able to look out from the vehicle to observe the day-to-day activities of the people within the area. This trip is unusually beautiful for transportation and presents the views of the Ugandan landscape. It was gazetted in the early 1950s and thus, it is the oldest of Uganda’s protected areas; it is also the largest covering an area of about 3700 square kilometers. On the first day of our visit, we will arrive at the park and take our lunch, after that we will check into the lodge in the park and the rest of the day will be free.

Day 3
Your day starts with an early morning game drive that is set to take place on the northern bank of the Nile River. The drive captures some of the park’s wildlife such as the elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and the big cats, especially the lions. Following that, you will be driven back to the lodge to have lunch. Now comes a different kind of a safari on the waters of what can be regarded as the most significant river in the country. You will also proceed to the foot of the Murchison Falls the biggest falls in Uganda and one of the most magnificent waterfalls in the whole world. It is a boat ride with a cruise feel where one gets to see hippos, crocs, and birds among other animals. Accommodation: Murchison Falls National Park.
Day 4
Today your trip covers the beautiful countryside and the small villages of western Uganda, which will help you to get the flavour of h How do people live here? Kibale National Park is not very far from Fort Portal, which has some reasonable accommodations. We chose the middle-class accommodation the Kibale Kondolege Cottages, with a beautiful view over the park and the food was just excellent. The breakfast is something that one shouldn’t really give a miss.
Day 5
In the morning, take some food and proceed to the park headquarters and have a meeting. Then set off on one of the most exhilarating experiences offered in this part of the world: The above activities that we engaged in included; chimpanzee tracking. These Chimpanzees can be found in large numbers in Kibale National Park which is the best destination to see them in the wild with over 1,500 of them. Both hearing them and seeing them, how they camouflage themselves, is something rather exciting. The dead leaves and twigs they drag around and break to get at their food gives one an idea of the effort they put into it.
Day 6
This morning, start your transfer to Uganda’s most popular and famous safari destination Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is famous for the different biomes that are present in the park including the savannah, the forest, wetland, and the lake. Your lodge is located up on a hill with a great view and should provide a quiet night. However, that setting is also the park’s main evening show.
Day 7
It is recommended to go for the morning game drive just before the sun rises in the Kasenyi plains. Depending on the time of the year you visit, you will be blessed with morning sunlight and a chance to see a pride of lions, a family of elephants or a countless number of buffaloes. If you do not see any of the ‘big’ beasts, you will almost definitely encounter several of the park’s handsome antelope species such as the topi, which is most likely to be seen in the south and east, perhaps not far from the Kasenyi area, and the rather dainty and reclusive sitatunga, which is an Albertine Rift endemic, and which thrives in the marshy conditions of the park and which will commonly be seen half submerged in water, in its rather graceful way. As you may get up late in the morning, you can spend some time watching how the light of the morning gradually turns into the beautiful colors of the afternoon at the park before you can proceed to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise in the afternoon.

Day 8
This morning, you will be transferred to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the sector of Ishasha. This region is home to the famous tree-climbing lions which is a rare species of lions in Africa. While moving around the area, it is advisable to try and look for these great cats. After your game drive, continue on to the next leg of your journey: The world’s famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will go for gorilla tracking. Upon your arrival, you will be expected to check in to the lodge of your choice and get ready for a wonderful adventure. Only a few people are privileged to encounter these great apes in the wild and you will be one of them.
Day 9
The climax of your Uganda safari will be today’s activity; gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and then proceed to the park HQ for briefing. Later on, you go into the dense forest accompanied with your guide. It may take several hours to get to the mountain gorillas as they are freely moving in the [forest]. But to find a family of the gorillas and to observe them for an hour makes this already a great safari even more exciting. Accommodations: in the park.
Day 10
After breakfast you will then proceed with the returning transfer to Entebbe via a scenic drive. This mostly depends on your flight schedule but if time permits we can go to the crafts market. I think we can also fit some leisure time at your hotel, though, before you go to the airport.
